“Home is Art” Kids Camp for James Simons students

Home Is Art - scholarship letter - 2018.jpg

Redux, in partnership with Friends of James Simons, invites James Simons students 6-11 to participate in our Home Is Art: Case Study Project, a collaborative summer learning workshop.

Each summer Redux houses a rich educational program inviting children to experience visual art first hand through workshops and classes but have yet to broach the dynamic world of Modern Architecture.

This year Redux is  thrilled to add a new summer session: Home Is Art: Case Study, with a goal of exposing children to architecture as an art that reshapes minds, communities, and lives.  The session will be held at Redux Contemporary Art Center, just 2 blocks from James Simons, July 16th-20th from 3:30-5:30 PM.

We hope to engage the James Simons Community and full scholarships are available via Friends of James Simons.

About Redux Art Center

Redux Contemporary Art Center is a nonprofit organization committed to fostering creativity and the cultivation of contemporary art through diverse exhibitions, subsidized studio space for visual artists, meaningful education programs, and a multidisciplinary approach to the dialogue between artists and their audiences. With our education programming, children are inspired by teaching artists and explore art exhibitions to create their own original works of art. Redux’s children and youth-focused outreach programs introduce underserved children and youth to the arts. By partnering with other organizations that serve local youth we can dramatically increase our impact on the community.

Redux is located at 1056 King Street, Charleston
